Ferg's Finds
This is a short weekly email that covers a few things I’ve found interesting during the week.

I'm still amazed how little air time this news has got when it was announced straight after the G20 in New Delhi: India may boost coal power fleet 25% by 2030 amid rising demand
I went over it here: Two Significant Energy Events That Got No Air Time
Podcast/Video
I've got a heap of value from Matt Warder's Tweets on coal over the past year or two, so it was great to see an interview with him: Talking Coal and its Necessity for an Energy Transition with Matt Warder.

Investors are still pilling into bonds despite heavy underperformance.
Something I'm Pondering
Is transmission growth to match electrification goals even possible?
I'm sceptical as from 2004 to 2020, US transmission grid miles only grew by 1.2% per year and would have to accelerate to 3.9%-5.7%
If the US couldn't maintain trend line transmission growth (~2%) during a decade of cheap money and abundant resources/energy, what are the chances of achieving 4-5% moving forward?
Hope you’ve had a great weekend.
Cheers,
Ferg
