Scammers making their way over to Substack
With the new Substack chat function it was only a matter of time....
Unfortunately, the scammers are making their way over to Substack with the new chat function. A few subscribers have sent me the scammer below posing as me, which I'm now trying to remove.
These scams all seem to follow similar strategies: They try to get you over to Telegram or Whatsapp as quickly as possible (before they are removed from Substack or Twitter).
From there, scams often involve funding accounts, which they then churn with frequent trades and high commissions. They can also just run off with the money, try to sell expensive trading courses or scam you in a million and one ways via crypto.
It's sad to witness this trend on Substack, especially since I've had to report a new scam account on Twitter almost every week for a while.
Anyway, please notify me when you get a message from one of these scammers. All I can do is get them taken down quickly (I'm lucky that anyone who follows my work usually calls bullshit when a scammer pretends to be me and pitches crypto).
Cheers,
Ferg
Why can't the scammers just do it the old-fashioned way? Start a mining company and market it as having a "world class asset with a great management team". 😁
Opportunities in crypto..that sounds just like you, Ferg 😆
