Before getting into the practical stuff, a few of you asked me to share the background to the below photo from Cambodia in 2011.
Yes, that is a rocket-propelled grenade (RPG) with which I was trying to knock a tree off a cliff face.
This took place at the end of a four-month trip starting in Thailand, travelling up through Laos, then crossing into Vietnam and finishing up in Cambodia. We started as a group of 14 friends, having finished up the Contiki Europe season (travel/party tours), and this group whittled down until it was only two of us.
On this day, my mate and I were wandering the streets of Phnom Penh and got offered by two soldiers “all we could shoot” for $200 USD each. Like any good business, there was soon an upsell to $500 USD each when I decided on an RPG, and he decided on a grenade launcher.
