Ferg's Finds
This is a short weekly email that covers a few things I’ve found interesting during the week.
Article(s)
One of my favourite blogs to binge-read: Frugal vs. Independent
Podcast/Video
I recommend everyone take some time to listen to Aidan Morrison dig into renewables:
Just How Cheap are Wind & Solar?
CSIRO's 'sunk cost' integration of renewables in GenCost
Quote(s)
“Behavioural advantages are the most interesting because they are the most durable. The best part is that such results are likely to be systematically exploitable and not able to be arbitraged away as they become more widely known.”

I think 2050 is being generous.
Charts
“Insanity is making the same mistakes and expecting different results (for a decade).”
-Albert Einstein
Something I'm Pondering
I’m pondering if I could create the above chart with coal.
Take the IEA coal analysis from 2022 and 2023.
In 2022; “coal is set to plateau through to 2025”, while in reality it grew 6.2% in 2023.
The IEA analysts obviously don’t have access to Google to check India and Chinas coal generation build out plans.
Hope you’re all having a great week.
Cheers,
Ferg
